Woman Charged With Murder For Multi-Vehicle Crash
Louisville area residents understand the importance of driving safely. When a person chooses to engage in dangerous driving behavior such as texting and driving, speeding, or driving under the influence, they risk their lives along with everyone they meet along the way. A recent tragic car crash near Lexington highlights the importance of safe driving.
A recent accident on Interstate 75 in Lexington killed three people with the driver who caused the crash facing multiple murder charges. The woman driver was being chased by law enforcement in Clark County when she did a u-turn and began driving the wrong way on I-75. She drove the wrong way on I-75 before her truck struck two other vehicles in Lexington. As the result of the crash, three Kentucky women died. The driver has now been charged with three counts of murder along with first degree assault and wanton endangerment. Prior to this crash she was convicted four times for drunk driving and also had prior convictions of prostitution, shoplifting, public intoxication, among others. She is currently being held in the Fayette County jail.
No family expects that their loved one will be in a serious accident due to another person’s negligence. Unfortunately, many Kentucky families have to deal with this reality each year. If a family finds themselves in a situation where a loved one was seriously injured or killed due to no fault of their own, they may want to speak with a legal professional who is skilled in personal injury. An attorney has the experience to know what to do in this tragic situation. They can visit the accident and interview witnesses, review police reports, and help the family get the answers they deserve as to what happened. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, funeral expenses and other damages.
When a person chooses to engage in dangerous activity while driving, they risk causing a serious accident. Families who are affected by negligent drivers have the legal right to hold these drivers accountable for their mistake.
